(CBS DETROIT) – A second suspect is suspected of posed as a DTE employee and murdered a Detroit-area man has been arrested, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

The suspect was located while traveling in Plymouth Township. He was taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the suspect.

The arrest comes two days after another suspect, 37-year-old Carlos Hernandez, was arrested Saturday in Shreveport, Louisiana. Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald has charged Hernandez with murder and two counts of unlawful imprisonment.

The incident happened Friday in the 3700 block of Newcastle Drive in Rochester Hills.

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said Friday that two suspects went to the home, claiming to be DTE employees and needing access to the home because of a gas leak. Bouchard says the victim, identified by authorities as local businessman Hussein Murray, took the individuals to the basement.

“Murray’s wife did not see the man again. They came upstairs a short time later and restrained her, taped her up, then searched the house for about 20 minutes and then left,” Bouchard told CBS News Detroit.

The sheriff’s office said the woman believed Murray had been kidnapped. However, during a search he was found dead in the basement.

Murray’s wife was taken to hospital for treatment.

An hour after the murder, the sheriff’s office released surveillance images obtained from the suspects’ home.
