As the timeline surrounding the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson becomes clearer, local businesses are thinking twice.
“The point of the matter is he should never have been alone in the business he was in,” Hill Martin said. “He should never have been alone.”
Martin works for Hawque Protection Group, a leader in Atlanta’s security industry, providing security guards for people working in businesses across the board.

Thompson was in New York City on December 4 for an investor conference at the Hilton Midtown. Police said he was walking across the street from his hotel just before 6:45 a.m. when the gunman ambushed him.
Before fleeing, the suspect tossed out bullets with the words “delay,” “deny,” “depose” written on them, a phrase used derisively by insurance industry critics.
“We’ve definitely seen an influx of calls since this happened,” ‘Matin said.
He said insurance and pharmaceutical companies have been reaching out to find out what services are available to employees in leadership positions or C-Suite roles such as Chief Executive Officers.
