See how voters turned out on the first day of in-person advanced voting in Johnson County

Saturday was the first day of in-person voting in Johnson County. A line of people stretched from the door to the parking lot of the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center shortly before 9 a.m. These were some of the early Johnson County residents eager to be the first to vote in the 2024 general election.

The Arts and Heritage Center on Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park is one of 10 advanced voting locations the Johnson County Election Office opened Saturday for the election. More in-person polling places will open on the two Saturdays, October 26 and November 2, that remain before Election Day. Advanced voting locations will be open Monday through Friday for weekday voting beginning October 21. They each have their own schedules, so it’s best to check the polling station’s website for locations and hours before voting.

Johnson County is offering in-person advanced voting until noon on Monday, November 4, the day before Election Day, but is limited to three locations on that day. Registered voters waiting to vote in person on Election Day must cast their ballot at the polling place assigned to them.
