As things heat up in the tropics, governments in Central Florida are helping residents prepare for the potential impact of a storm.

Here is a list of the sandbag locations offered this week, ahead of potential storm impacts.

Titusville

Melbourne

The city of Melbourne Beach

  • Residents can enter the line on 1st Avenue westbound from Pine Street and exit by going south on River Road and east on 2nd Avenue

  • There is a limit of 10 sandbags per vehicle

  • Residents may also bring their own bags to fill

  • There is a limited supply of sand and it is for Melbourne Beach ratepayers on a first come, first served basis.

Wickham Park

The city of Edgewater said it has filled two locations in the city with sand piles.

Residents should bring their own bags and shovels.

  • The municipality provides free sand and empty sandbags. Residents must provide proof of residency and fill their own sandbags.

  • To speed up the filling of the sandbags, residents are asked to bring shovels.
