On Monday, Oak Ridge Mayor Warren Gooch called for a moment of silence before the start of the council meeting in memory of Oak Ridge Police Lt. Marvell Moore, who died unexpectedly on Nov. 5.
On Friday, November 15, Oak Ridge police officers will escort Moore’s body to and from Cleveland, Tennessee – where he grew up – for a service in Oak Ridge at Calvary Baptist Church, 163 N. Jefferson Circle. Receiving friends will be from 10 a.m. to noon with the Celebration of Life service at noon. He will then be returned to Cleveland for burial at Fort Hill Cemetery.
Oak Ridge Police Lt. Marvell Moore
The 50-year-old officer had worked for the ORPD since 2005. He reportedly died from a complication of a recent medical procedure.
A memorial will be erected outside the Oak Ridge Municipal Building.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Terry, and seven children, as well as his father and stepmother, two brothers, a grandmother and many relatives and friends.
The funeral procession
The funeral procession will leave Calvary Baptist around 2 p.m. Here is the route the procession will take on its way to Cleveland, according to the city of Oak Ridge:

The procession will travel west on Oak Ridge Turnpike to the Highway 95/58 split and continue on Highway 95 to Interstate 75.

Once on I-75, the procession travels south into Cleveland to Fort Hill Cemetery.
The Oak Ridge Police Department is asking those who wish to watch the procession and Lt. Moore wants to honor not to stand or park on the roadway or in other places that could be dangerous to motorists and bystanders.
