MINNEAPOLIS — A former probation officer convicted in a murder case will hear her fate for the second time in court on Tuesday.

According to court documents, a settlement has been reached in the new trial for Elsa Segura.

Sure was found guilty in 2021 of complicity in first-degree premeditated murder in the death of Minneapolis Real Estate Agent Monique BaughShe was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.

The Minnesota Supreme Court revise her belief in January. The court said prosecutors had failed to provide sufficient evidence and had given the jury improper instructions on determining her criminal liability.

Hennepin County District Attorney Mary Moriarty is expected to speak following Segura’s plea and sentencing.

In March, Minnesota’s highest court also ruled the convictions were overturned by Lyndon Akeem Wigginsthe alleged leader of the plot to frame and murder Baugh.

The court upheld the convictions of two other suspects in the case.
