Seven dead in Russian missile attack on Ukrainian region of Zaporizhia

At least seven people have been killed in a Russian missile attack on the city of Vilniansk in Ukraine’s Zaporizhia region. Eleven others were seriously injured, including three children, authorities said.

President Volodymyr Zelensky posted on X: “Unfortunately, the number of victims may increase.”

Zaporizhzhya Governor Ivan Fodorev said that an “object of critical infrastructure” and several residential blocks were damaged. He did not go into details.

The industrial city of Dnipro was hit on Friday, killing one person and injuring three others.

Ukrainian cities and towns were attacked daily, Zelenskiy said. “We will destroy the terrorists where they are, eliminate Russian launch pads, hit them with long-range weapons and increase the number of modern anti-aircraft systems in Ukraine,” he added.
