NORTH MANKATO, Minn. – Seven people, including four children, are injured after a head-on crash in north Mankato.
According to the Minnesota State PatrolThe crash happened Thursday around 5:15 p.m. on the eastbound Highway 14.
A motorist in a Ford Explorer was traveling west on the highway when they collided head-on with a motorist in a Toyota Highlander traveling east. The two vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes.
There were six people in the Ford Explorer. They include the 36-year-old man who was driving, a 34-year-old female passenger and four children aged 1, 5, 7 and 13. They are all from Eagle Lake, Minnesota. All suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The 36-year-old man and two children, ages 7 and 13, were taken to a Mankato hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The Toyota’s driver and sole occupant, a 66-year-old Mankato woman, also suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
According to the patrol, alcohol was not involved.
