Several people have been injured after a gunman opened fire on a bus near an Israeli settlement in the West Bank.
Three people were seriously injured by gunfire and another person suffered moderate injuries, Israeli rescue service Magen David Adom said on Friday.
Other people were injured by broken glass, the report said.
The alleged perpetrator opened fire on the Israeli bus, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said on X. He was “neutralized” on the spot.
The Palestinian man was reported dead by the Ministry of Health in Ramallah.
The military wing of the Palestinian militant Islamist group Hamas said the attacker was a member of Hamas. Hamas has been at war with Israel for more than a year.
According to Israeli sources, the attack took place near the Ariel settlement in the northern West Bank.
Palestinians have been carrying out more and more attacks in Israel and the occupied West Bank for some time now.
At the same time, there has been a sharp increase in settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
