Severe weather, with a risk of tornadoes, is expected to move through Oklahoma

Oklahoma is gearing up for another round of severe weather on Saturday night.

According to the National Weather Service, all potential hazards are possible, including high winds, hail, heavy rain and tornadoes.

Tornado watch for most of Oklahoma

Severe thunderstorms have moved into Oklahoma from Texas. Most of Oklahoma remains under a tornado watch until 11 p.m

Organizers of the Paseo Arts Festival announced on Facebook that the event will close Saturday at 5 p.m. The festival returns on Sunday from 10am to 8pm and on Monday from 10am to 5pm.

Riverwind Casino in Norman has announced that the Beats and Bites event has been postponed to a later date. Tickets for the event are refundable.

Regardless of any specific forecast, here are some things you can do to prepare for Oklahoma’s severe weather season.

• Now figure out where to go if you need to find shelter; there are no public shelters in Oklahoma City

• If you have access to a storm shelter, clean it and prepare to use it

• Buy a flashlight and spare batteries

• If you own a weather radio, make sure it is programmed and working properly

• Identify your source for instant weather information, for example from local meteorologists

• Sit down with your family and discuss what to do if there is a tornado threat

• Do you have pets? Make sure there is a plan in place to keep your furry friends safe
