It’s been a tough time for Cathie Wood and her line of ARK Invest ETFs.
Ark Invest’s flagship innovation ETF, which trades under the ticker symbol ‘ARKK’, has suffered massive losses since its peak in February 2021.
The ARKK ETF is down 72% since its peak on February 19, 2021. Over the same period, the Nasdaq 100, its main benchmark, is up 39% and is at a record high. Year-to-date, the ARKK ETF is down 15%, while the Nasdaq 100 is up 12%.
And losses continue to pile up for ARKK, which manages $6.3 billion, down from a peak of about $28 billion in assets under management.
According to data from Cathie’s Ark, a website that tracks daily trades of ARK Invest’s ETFs, only one of ARKK’s top 10 stock investments – Tesla – has been in the green since it was added to the portfolio. And of the 35 stocks in the portfolio, only seven are positive.
