The Brimfield Township Sheetz will celebrate a grand opening Thursday on Sanctuary View Drive, off state Route 43.
An event will begin at 9 a.m. outside the store, with several prizes awarded to attendees, the company said in a news release. The main prize awarded is ‘free Sheetz for a year’. The prize comes in the form of a gift voucher of € 2,500. No purchase is necessary to win, but potential winners must be present and 18 years or older to enter.
The store, which will cut the official ribbon during a ceremony at 10:45 a.m., will offer customers free self-serve coffee and soft drinks all day Thursday.
In honor of the grand opening, Sheetz will donate $2,500 to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, which serves people living in the eight-county area – Portage, Summit, Stark, Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Tuscarawas and Wayne.
Customers attending the grand opening are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item to the nonprofit. Those who donate between 9am and 11am will receive a Sheetz brand thermal bag, with a limit of one per customer, while supplies last.
Sheetz will also make a $2,500 donation to the Special Olympics of Ohio.
Sheetz said in its news release that it will hire about 30 people. The company, which has 750 stores, is headquartered in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
