Pasco’s newest chicken restaurant serves a mix of Sinaloan cuisine and sentimental memories of the father who cooked for everyone.
Marina Lopez, originally from Sinaloa, Mexico, opened Pollos El Ray at 4525 Road 68, next to T Mobile.
Lopez said she wanted to share the dishes her father lovingly prepared for weddings, quinceañeras and other special occasions.
The menu offers whole, half and quarter chickens, carne asada and a variety of side dishes including tortillas, fries, rice, beans and drinks.

JayDay Café & Boba
5216 W Okanogan Place, Suite 130, Kennewick
JayDay Cafe & Boba, a Yakima business, is expanding to the Tri-Cities with a new location near Kamiakin High School.
JayDay, which serves coffee, boba, tea and food, will open in a new retail building near the Edison Street Food Park.
The store offers both drive-thru and indoor seating. Neighbors include the future Kennewick location for Spudnut, expected to open this fall.
JayDay is led by Nhu Nguyen.

The Pick Me Up Coffee Co. is now open in the coffee caboose in south Kennewick.
Pick Me Up, which started at Summers Hub, took over the drive-thru coffee stall that was empty when Red Rail crossed the street. Before Red Rail, the caboose-style stand was known as MochaMotive.
It was repainted black for Pick Me Up, which is led by Kelly Wellenbrock, Amanda Questad and Samantha Sauceda.

Canyon Lakes Starbucks is reopening
4008 W. 27th Ave., Kennewick
A Starbucks near Canyon Lakes in south Kennewick has reopened after temporarily closing for a $500,000 renovation.
The store, located near Home Depot on Highway 395, was redesigned with less seating, more kitchen space and improved mechanical systems. The city issued a certificate of occupancy on September 12.
The Canyon Lakes Starbucks is one of 18 locations in the Tri-Cities.
Tiriddis shines in Prosser

Tirriddis Sparkling Wines is planning a grand opening at its new Prosser tasting room at 3 p.m., October 17.
Tirriddis hours are 11am to 7pm daily and offers $5 glass pour specials and discounts on to-go bottles.
Tirriddis is led by Gabriel Crowell, Matthew Doutney and Andew Gerow, graduates of Washington State University’s Tri-Cities Viticulture & Enology program.
Tirridis opened its first tasting room in Prosser in 2022 at the Port of Benton’s Prosser Wine & Food Park.
