Philadelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey is expected to miss a few weeks with a hamstring injury, a source confirmed to CBS News Philadelphia.

A source said Maxey will be re-evaluated Thursday afternoon.

Maxey suffered a hamstring injury in the match Sixers’ 110-98 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday evening.

The 24-year-old is averaging 27.6 points and 39.7 minutes in seven games this season. The Sixers signed Maxey to a maximum contract extension in low season.

The Sixers are now 1-6 and they have already dealt with a series of injuries to begin the season.

Joel Embiid has yet to play due to a left knee injury. His return approaches after he… three-match suspension for pushing Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Marcus Hayes.

Paul George then missed the Sixers’ first five games his left knee hyperextended in the preseason. George made his Sixers debut earlier this week and was booed on Wednesday when he returned to LA.

The Sixers wrap up a three-game trip on the West Coast against the Lakers in LA on Friday night.
