Winter weather warnings
The Tri-State area is under a red alert this morning due to snow and increasing winter weather warnings in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
As of this morning, several counties northwest of New York City are under winter storm warnings, and counties further out are under winter storm warnings.
Parts of northern New Jersey will wake up Friday with snow already on the ground, which could mean slick roads. So take it easy on the way to work.
It’s possible that most of the area will get several inches of snow when it’s all said and done. Places at higher elevations, such as Sullivan County, New York, could see more than a foot!
Winter storm timeline
