So you’ve mailed in your ballot or put it in a mailbox, and now you want to make sure it’s been received and counted.
In Colorado, there are a few ways you can see where your ballot is now.
Govotecolorado.com
One option is to visit the Colorado Secretary of State’s election website, govotecolorado.com, and click “Check My Ballot Status.”
There you enter your name, zip code and date of birth. When the next screen appears, click on the box that says “voting information.” There you will be told the status of your ballot: when it was sent to you, when your county received it and when it was counted.
This site also gives you access to information about your voting districts and voter registration.
Ballottrax
This service, also offered through the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office, will track your ballot and send you alerts along the way.
To register, visit ballottrax.coloradosos.gov. You can enter a phone number and email address so you can receive alerts, and you can set parameters for when you receive notifications.
However, confidential voters cannot use this system.
What if you’re worried your ballot has been lost?
If it is Election Day, or too close to Election Day for your comfort, visit the county office or a voter service and polling place where you can request a new ballot and vote in person.
