President-elect Donald Trump is quickly filling out his Cabinet, giving him a glimpse of what his second administration will look like.

The series of choices Trump has announced in recent days share a common theme: loyalty. (You can find the list of Trump administration staffers here.)

Of Republicans retain control of the House of Representatives and by winning the Senate, the president-elect will enter the White House in January with incredible power to shape the country according to his vision.

Let’s take a look at some of Trump’s recent appointments and the impact they could have on the business world:

The US Attorney General – Matt Gaetz: A surprising choice to say the least, the Florida representative wreaked havoc within his own party when he led the effort to oust Kevin McCarthy from the presidency last year.

Gaetz was also the subject of sex trafficking allegations that led to an investigation by the same agency he is being nominated for. (The Justice Department declined to file charges, but he faced a House Ethics Committee investigation.) House Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters Wednesday that Gaetz had resigned from Congress.

He is too clashed with the technology industryindicating that Americans have an “obligation to exercise” their Second Amendment rights when push comes to shove Silicon Valley companies censor conservatives. Gaetz’s nomination requires Senate confirmation, which is far from a slam dunk.

Secretary of State – Marco Rubio: The senator from Florida is an outspoken critic of China and a supporter of Taiwan. In fact, China has punished him twice, and his ability to travel to the country is somewhat in question.

The appointment adds another wrinkle to the growing tension between the US and China. Trump has said he wants aggressive tariffs on Chinese imports, and Rubio has raised alarm about what he sees as China’s plan to hurt the U.S. economy.

Secretary of Defense – Pete Hegseth: The army veteran and Fox News host has been outspoken about America’s involvement in geopolitical conflicts. Hegseth is among a growing number of Republicans questioning U.S. support for Ukraine. He also said that he doubted whether Russia would invade Poland if it were to successfully take over Ukraine.

When it comes to Israel, Hegseth has been a staunch supporter. He also opposed calls for a ceasefire and criticized pro-Palestinian protesters.

Hegseth’s recordings are not limited to international affairs. He has criticized women serving in combat roles and diversity and equality policies in the U.S. military.

Minister of Finance – To be determined: Trump’s choice for his top economic adviser is being closely watched given the key role the economy played in the election. The two frontrunners appear to be Scott Bessent, a hedge fund executive, and Howard Lutnick. the co-chair of Trump’s transition team and the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald.

Bessent was initially seen as the favorite, but Lutnick is reportedly making a last ditch effort qualify for the job.
