Level up
Which idiotic staffer or staffers vetted the offensive comedian for the Trump MSG meeting? If he hasn’t been vetted, why not? Why was he there in the first place at this crucial stage of the final round before election day? It seems like high-level campaigns on both sides should be able to avoid or prevent a critical, self-inflicted wound, but apparently that’s not always the case because Harris’ crew has also abandoned their candidate. More than a billion dollars will be spent searching for the White House, and yet the smallest mistakes can derail the train.
Politeness
What happened to the civility and honor of our presidents and candidates? When did it become acceptable to call people “trash” and “the enemy within,” to name just a few of the vile comments that have been made recently? I bet Lincoln, FDR and Reagan are turning in their graves. There is no excuse for this vitriol spewed by the leaders of the free world.
Go vote
Mississippi is not inherently Republican. Tate Reeves won re-election with just 51 percent of the vote. Low voter turnout and a bust in Jackson that left voters waiting in lines for hours all affected Reeves’ slim margin of victory. Mississippi is the second most difficult state to vote in and has a very long history of discriminatory voting practices. So please show them that you can vote. Your voice can really make a difference.
Harris meeting
Our Vice President must really be a force to be reckoned with if she manages to transport 75,000 people to Washington DC for her meeting that ‘nobody’ wanted to attend. Donald Trump is so jealous of the size of her audience that he will say anything nonsensical to deny her popularity. Show me photos or video of the roughly 1,500 buses it would take to make that happen and I’ll happily eat my words for breakfast.
Recommendations
The Sound Offs about major newspapers and unions not supporting Vice President Harris misses the main point here. It’s not so much a hatred of her, but rather a desire not to upset Donald Trump and see what kind of tax breaks and other benefits they can get to line their already overstuffed pockets. It’s about shameless greed and nothing else.
Standards
So a local anchor is fired for showing his political views on his personal accounts. A front-page story includes the “outrage” about how unprofessional it is to express a political opinion as a journalist. The same day there is a story about how the Washington Post has supported Democrats for decades. Editors and writers have now quit after refusing to endorse Vice President Harris this year. The entire staff publicly identifies as liberal. You can’t make this stuff up. If Democrats didn’t have double standards, they would have no standards at all.
Controlling the story
Why do most Americans think the economy is doing badly, when in reality it is doing very well? That’s because Republicans are doing a better job than Democrats when it comes to controlling the media message about our economy: it’s not the economy that’s stupid; it’s the price of eggs and bacon.
Not his fault
Donald Trump’s MSG rally, which went sideways over racist, sexist and profane speeches, is not his responsibility, we are told. He had nothing to do with it. Could it be that those sneaky Democrats have pulled off a brilliant rally sabotage mission right under his nose? Yes, that must be it.
That roundabout
This worthless $2.3 million project is completely unnecessary. Nothing but a waste of time and money so someone can put a feather in their cap. A roundabout is nonsense. That money could have been better used for real road improvements. Sick of ignorance and incompetence.
Political views
Political positions from national television and journalists are visible every day. Some personalities are very adamant about their political views and very biased. Watch MSNBC, CNN, ABC and CBC for liberal views. FOX is of course also conservative. Dave has been a longtime fixture on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Give him a break.
Football fields
Last year, it was brought to the attention of Biloxi city officials that hundreds of children had to leave the soccer fields across from the Margaret Sherry Library before it got dark because there were no lights on any of the fields. Here we are a year later and the dog park is lighted, as are the pickle ball fields and the pickle ball parking lot, but some fields are still in the dark. Aren’t our children a priority in Biloxi?
Guns
Fortunately, mentally ill people in America can still own guns. Just because you’re mentally ill doesn’t mean the bad guys aren’t out to get you.
