Southeast hit by catastrophic flooding from Helene – CBS News
More than 100 people have died and more than 600 are missing after Hurricane Helene and its remnants wreaked havoc across the southeastern US. Helene touched down in Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, with a storm surge of more than 10 feet. Then it moved on to Georgia, where the governor compared the devastation to a bomb exploding. But the highest death toll is in North Carolina, where the emergency remains in place. Skyler Henry reports from Asheville.
