Stock futures were mostly lower on Wednesday as Wall Street waited for the Federal Reserve’s favorite inflation gauge to deliver the last major economic data before Thanksgiving.
Futures tracking the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 25 points, or 0.1%, while contracts tied to the S&P 500 fell 0.1%. Futures for the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 index fell 0.2%.
Both the S&P 500 and Dow Jones indexes closed at record levels on Tuesday as investors shrugged off tariff threats from newly elected President Donald Trump. The market’s focus will now turn to the October personal consumption expenditures price index, which the Bureau of Economic Analysis will release Wednesday at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
