Speed suspected factor in fatal motorcycle crash near Kalispell

Nov. 9 – Excessive speed is a suspected factor in a motorcycle crash Friday that killed a 21-year-old Kalispell man.

The wreck happened at about 12:30 p.m. near Tronstad Road and US 93 north of Kalispell.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol accident report, a Kenworth Construction truck was turning north on US 93 from Tronstad when, for unknown reasons, the motorcyclist on a Kawasaki ZX636 went from the left lane to the right lane and collided with the truck.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene. The truck driver from Bigfork was not injured.

Witnesses said the motorcyclist split his lane near Rose Crossing and was traveling at about 90 mph before the crash.
