MINNEAPOLIS — The City of Lakes will be a sea of uniforms, with Minnesota’s best teams in town and in action.
On Saturday, the Minnesota Golden Gophers take on the Nevada Wolf Pack at Huntington Bank Stadium, the Twins attempt to play the Cincinnati Reds, and the Red Bull Showrun turns the streets of downtown Minneapolis into a racetrack.
Legendary driver David Coulthard tears around a pre-determined route in the championship-winning RB7 car.
Street freestyle motorcyclist Aaron Colton and former F1 driver and rally champion Scott Speed will also be on hand to entertain the crowd.
“It gives you the chance to get as close to a Formula 1 car as you can only get at the Singapore Grand Prix,” said Coulthard.
The event starts at 12:00 and admission is free.
All the excitement reaches a climax on Sunday, when the Vikings take on the 49ers.
Jesse Manriquez has been a fan all his life and flew in from California especially for the match.
“I’d like to tell you I fell in love with the color purple, but back then it was black-and-white television,” Manriquez said. “I just fell in love with the Vikings.”
He is usually surrounded by 49ers fans, like his son, who stood outside US Bank Stadium in red and black on Friday.
Regardless of who you cheer for, Manriquez made one thing clear.
“The fans and ‘Minnesota nice’ are unbeatable,” he said.

More than 200,000 people are expected in Minneapolis this weekend.
