St. Paul man sentenced to 60 months in Cub Foods parking lot shooting

ST. PAUL, Minn. — A St. Paul man was sentenced to 60 months in connection with a supermarket parking lot shooting that injured a teenage girl in March.

Marquan Husten-Myles of St. Paul pleaded guilty in April to possession of a firearm as a felon. He was sentenced Friday and was given 104 days to serve.

A second person, a 17-year-old from St. Paul, was also charged in connection with the shooting. He faces three felonies, including second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. Isaiah Parkin20, is also charged with attempted second-degree murder and drive-by shooting in connection with the incident.

According to the complaint, officers were dispatched to a Cub Foods at 1177 Clarence Street after a report of multiple men shooting each other in the parking lot. The people involved in the shooting left in two different cars when police arrived.

Police found vehicles nearby hit by grenades and with damage to a shop window. A Girl Scout who was packing cookies at the store was struck by gunfire 16 year old was hit by a bullet.

Criminal charges say surveillance footage shows Husten-Myles and the 17-year-old suspect leaving the convenience store and walking to a Kia Optima they parked in the fire lane in front of the store. As they walked, a man — identified as Parkin — began shooting at the two. The two parties shot each other multiple times before fleeing the scene.
