Los Angeles Sparks rookie Cameron Brink was stretchered off the field Tuesday after suffering an apparent knee injury against the Connecticut Sun.

The extent of the injury was initially unclear.

The injury occurred halfway through the first quarter. Brink fell to the court after contact with Suns forward Brionna Jones while driving to the basket. She planted her leg awkwardly and immediately grabbed her left knee as she fell to the track. She struggled to get up, but got up with the help of her teammates.

She was able to stagger to the sideline under her own power, but was carried off the field by trainers upon reaching the bench.

Brink joined the Sparks as the No. 2 pick in April’s WNBA draft out of Stanford. Through the 14 games before Tuesday, she averaged 8.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 2.4 blocks and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 39.8% from the floor and 32.3% shot from a distance of 3 points. She was recently selected as a member of the Team USA 3×3 basketball team for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
