Pittsburgh Steelers star TJ Watt went down with a non-contact foot injury late in Sunday afternoon’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles
Watt, while trying to reach Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts in the fourth quarter at Lincoln Financial Field, suddenly began jumping while favoring his left foot. Watt didn’t appear to do anything specific, but he clearly fell to the ground in great pain.
He managed to get to the sideline under his own power, but was immediately checked out by the team’s medical staff.
Watt did not return to the match. He was seen throwing his gloves on the ground and walking to the locker room after leaving the medical tent. He finished with seven tackles and two sacks in the loss. No further details about his injury are known.
Watt has 40 tackles and 11.5 sacks so far this season, his eighth on the team. The Steelers entered Sunday with a 10-3 record, although they trailed the Eagles 27-13 when Watt went down.
