Stow’s Citizens for Nonpartisan Politics sponsors Candidate’s Night

The Stow group Citizens for Nonpartisan Politics is sponsoring its 14th annual Candidates Night on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the VFW/Acker-Moore Memorial Post 175, 3733 Fishcreek Road in Stow, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with doors open. at 6:15 p.m

CNP Secretary Tom Stephan will act as MC and moderator this evening. CNP member Ellen Coughlin will serve as timekeeper along with community representative Kem Cook.

Candidates include those running for Congress, Ohio Supreme Court Justices, Senator, State House Representative, Court of Appeals Judges, Common Pleas Court Judges, Attorney General county, the clerk of the Common Pleas Court, the sheriff, the tax assessor, and the Summit County Council (District 3). .

Each candidate will have two minutes to present their background and qualifications, followed by a timed question and answer session in which each candidate will answer two questions. If a candidate is unable to attend, he/she may send a representative who will have two minutes to explain the candidate’s background and/or position, but who will not be part of the question and answer session. There will be no debates.

The Candidate Evening is free and public; Light refreshments will be provided. Members of the CNP Government Affairs Committee developed the questions the moderator will ask. The candidates did not receive or see any questions prior to the Candidate Evening.
