Southern California is in for a monster weather week this week as the area has had a warm weekend. Veterans Day, it will remain dry and warm with mild conditions.
Then there will be a system moving north that could bring a slight chance of showers and cooler than normal conditions late Monday and into the overnight hours.
KCAL News meteorologist Amber Lee said it will be a fast-moving system, and once that passes, winds will pick up again — but nothing like the gusts that hit the region last week.
“It will be windy when we leave tomorrow morning, with wind warnings, but again, nothing as strong as what we saw last week,” Lee said.
The wind warnings will be in effect from 2 a.m. Tuesday through 2 a.m. Wednesday for parts of the Antelope Valley, the foothills and mountains of LA and Ventura counties, and a small portion of the San Fernando Valley — the usual wind-prone areas.
It will remain dry Tuesday through Thursday, but as the weekend approaches there will be a chance of showers again as a larger system moves in.
There is a 30% chance of rain on Friday night and a 20% chance of rain on Saturday.
