HOWELL — The suspect in the deadly shooting at Metro Studios Ink on Friday, June 28, has been identified and charged.
Jeremy Michael Heath, 48, of Clarkston, was arraigned in the 53rd District Court on Monday, July 1.
According to police, Sean Thompson, 46, of Howell, was found dead at Metro Studios after Howell police received a complaint of threats.
In a press release Saturday, HPD attempted to correct conflicting information, saying Thompson was on the scene and causing a disturbance before the shooting. They said there was a known history of disputes between company employees and Thompson.
Although some media outlets reported that Thompson was carrying a knife, HPD said there was no indication he was armed. Threats of violence were made, however, which led to the suspect firing a single shot, striking and killing Thompson.
Heath is charged with carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, felony firearm and carrying a concealed weapon. His bail has been set at $200,000.
