A suspect has been arrested in Arizona in connection with the murder of a girl in Bastrop, Louisiana, according to police officials in Bastrop.
According to a Facebook post from the Bastrop Police Department, officers were called to a home in Louisiana after a body was discovered in the woods just behind it. The body was later identified as 14-year-old Ashley Barnes, and Bastrop police are investigating the homicide.
On Friday, police officials announced that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the case. Authorities identified the suspect as 44-year-old Montrell Donnell Holmes.
The U.S. Marshals Service in Arizona used cell phone tower pings to locate him, and he was arrested on a Bastrop Police Department warrant for manslaughter, according to an updated Facebook post.
