A man has died after police say he was shot while trying to break into a home in Butler County on Sunday.

West Chester police said the shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. at Stoney Creek Condos, according to our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati.

According to West Chester police, a resident heard noises from his balcony and found the man inside.
The resident shot the intruder, who was taken to the hospital.
Police believe the intruder died from his injuries, according to WCPO.
The shooting remains under investigation.
