Suspects arrested after shooting outside Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA

Four people were arrested Thursday evening after reports of a shooting outside the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police responded to the 100 block of South Grand Avenue, where witnesses reportedly heard gunshots around 5 p.m.

A graduation ceremony was held in the concert hall for more than 100 LA County high school graduates, including 29 students who were currently incarcerated youth on probation.

At the end of the ceremony, a person suddenly jumped over a second-floor balcony and attacked one of the graduating teens, authorities said.

Officers arriving on the scene discovered a fight outside the concert hall involving several suspects. Four people were arrested during the incident.

According to police, several bullet casings were found in the area. It is unclear what sparked the argument.

No injuries were reported to law enforcement officers or attendees at the ceremony, the LAPD said, and no suspect identities have been released.

The graduation ceremony was hosted by the LA County Office of Education and the LA County Probation Department.

The Probation Department will continue to work with our neighboring law enforcement agencies and partners to celebrate the achievements of our youth while working to create a safer community.”

Streets around the city center were closed off as police investigated the area.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the LAPD at 1-877-527-3247.
