SWAT responded to Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood early Sunday morning after a man was injured in a shooting.
A Pittsburgh police spokesperson says officers around 3:30 a.m. responded to Bausman Street and Brownsville Road along the border between Knoxville and Mt. Oliver were ejected for two ShotSpotter warnings totaling 18 rounds.
Officers found a man on the roadway who had been hit in the knee by a bullet. He was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
The spokesperson said the suspect was believed to be at a home on nearby Amanda Street.
SWAT arrived on scene to search the home. A Channel 11 crew on scene heard the SWAT team use flash bangs during the search.
The suspect was not located and the building was evacuated at 7:15 a.m., more than two hours after SWAT arrived.
Police found shell casings during the search for evidence.
The incident is still under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
