Tampa police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Monday afternoon on the 7700 block of North Florida Avenue.
Police said they were called to that area at 3:45 p.m. for reports of a shooting. They found a man with gunshot wounds, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers closed North Florida Avenue between East Hanlon and East Kirby streets while they investigated.
“Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes to allow for the investigation,” police said in a news release. “Detectives are trying to determine what led to the shooting.”
