Teenager arrested after shots fired during robbery at Lexington convenience store

An 18-year-old was arrested after a robbery involving shots fired at a Lexington convenience store Friday afternoon.

Aubrion Johnson entered the Mini Mart on the 1400 block of Anniston Drive and got into an argument with the clerk and then fired shots, Lexington police said in a news release.

No one was injured by the gunfire, but the clerk was treated for injuries sustained during the incident, police said. The injuries were not life-threatening.

Police were called to the scene at 2:55 p.m. and arrested Johnson, charging him with first-degree robbery, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree escape, first-degree fleeing or eluding police, first-degree assault in the second degree and carrying a concealed weapon. .

He was taken to the Fayette County Detention Center.
