One man was charged with murder. A teenager is being sought after a body was found on a road in South Carolina, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Jordan Malik Coleman-Jacobs, 19, is wanted on murder charges, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
In addition to murder, Jaqual Jamaul Coleman was also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the release. No bond has been set for Coleman, Sumter County court records show.
The charges are related to the fatal shooting of D’ante J. Archie, the sheriff’s office said.
In the early morning hours of Oct. 12, deputies responded to a 911 call about an unconscious man lying in the 5000 block of Byas Road near a home, the sheriff’s office said. That’s near the Wedgefield area of Sumter County.
The victim, later identified as 20-year-old Archie, died at the scene, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said.
No other injuries were reported.
Information about a motive for the shooting was not available.
An investigation led to Coleman’s arrest and now charges against Coleman-Jacobs, the news release said. No information was available on how Coleman came into custody, but he was arrested Oct. 14, court records show.
The sheriff’s office described Coleman-Jacobs as a man, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
