Temperatures Rise in Philadelphia, How Ernesto Could Impact the Region

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Temperatures will rise slightly Thursday and Friday in the Philadelphia area, and it will be a little more humid. There will be a bit more cloud cover, but most of Thursday will still be dry.

There may be some local showers on Friday evening, but the greatest chance of measurable rainfall will not occur until the coming weekend, when the general pattern changes.

There is currently no weather warning in effect, but it may be wise to have a backup plan if you have outdoor activities planned.

Ernesto is moving north and eyes are now on Bermuda. The storm is expected to strengthen into a major hurricane, possibly making direct landfall in Bermuda on Saturday.

Local impacts include higher waves and the threat of rip currents, particularly on Sunday at the Jersey Shore and Delaware beaches.
