MINNEAPOLIS— Wednesday will start mildly, but temperatures will drop during the day. Our Halloween forecast doesn’t look ideal for trick-or-treating.
Early showers in the north and south will taper off around noon Wednesday, but a second wave in the evening will bring more showers and isolated thunderstorms to southeastern Minnesota as cold air moves in. Although we’ll start in the 70s, we’ll drop into the 50s by dinner time.
Halloween will be the coldest day of October. Lingering moisture in the morning could lead to light snowfall north of the Twin Cities, and possibly even some flakes in the metro. Things should dry out by trick-or-treating time, but wind chills in the 30s will be an issue.
Friday will be dry and sunny – an average day in early November. Temperatures will return to more seasonal levels this weekend, with rain chances continuing early next week.
