The expanded College Football Playoff makes the 2024-2025 bowl schedule look very unfamiliar.
Bowl Season announced the lineups for almost every other bowl game on Thursday, a day after the CFP announced the schedule for the first 12-team playoffs. The first bowl game is on December 14th and the last non-playoff bowl game is on January 4th.
The Camellia Bowl is the only FBS bowl game on the second Saturday in December. The game will take place just one week after conference championship weekend and one week before the first round of the College Football Playoff. The first Saturday of bowl season typically has several games. In 2023, the first day of bowl season consisted of six games, along with the Celebration Bowl at the FCS level. The Celebration Bowl is also scheduled for Dec. 14, as is the traditional Army-Navy battle between the service academies.
Only play-off matches are scheduled for New Year’s Day this season. The Peach Bowl, Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl were previously announced for Jan. 1 and there will be no other lower-level bowl games that day. Four bowl games will take place on New Year’s Eve before the Fiesta Bowl, the first quarterfinal of the College Football Playoff.
The most hectic day of bowl season is Saturday, December 28. That day will feature eight matches in twelve hours. The first game is the Fenway Bowl at 11:00 AM ET and the day concludes with the Independence Bowl at 9:15 PM ET. In 2023, the Independence Bowl was one of six games on the first day of the bowl season.
Below you will find the complete bowl schedule excluding the Holiday Bowl. No date and time has been set for that game yet. All tenses are oriental.
