SAN JOSE – An Alaska Airlines flight to San Jose landed safely Sunday evening after a priority landing call, the airline said.
Crews of Alaska Airlines Flight 1084 from Seattle to San Jose requested a priority landing after discovering that the auxiliary power unit, which serves as a redundant electrical power source, failed during their descent, the plane said.
The flight, a Boeing 737-900ER, remained fully powered and crews landed safely around 5 p.m. Mineta San Jose International Airport.
There were 175 people and six crew members on board at the time, departing from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
Earlier this week one Southwest flight from Oakland to Reno made an emergency landing in Sacramento due to an illuminated flap warning light during the flight’s initial descent.
Another one on Tuesday Southwest flight from San Jose returned to the airport after experiencing engine problems minutes into the flight.
