The bodies of three hostages killed on October 7 have been recovered in Gaza, according to the Israeli army.
In a statement published on social media platform
It is believed they were killed at the Mefalsim intersection on October 7 and their bodies taken to Gaza. Israel says about 100 hostages are still trapped in Gaza, along with the bodies of about 30 others.
The announcement comes less than a week after the military said it had found the bodies of three other Israeli hostages killed on October 7.
Hamas-led militants killed about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped about 250 others in the Oct. 7 attack. About half of these hostages have since been released, most in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel during a weeklong ceasefire in November.
Earlier this week, the group representing the families of the October 7 Israeli hostages met released footage filmed by Hamas that day showed the capture of several female soldiers. The sister of one of the hostages told CBS News that the images were released to remind the world that hostages are still being held in Gaza.
