Nov. 23 – The San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters has 9,765 ballots left to process before certifying election results with the California Secretary of State by Dec. 2.
Of the unprocessed votes, 8,632 are conditional voter registration ballots, and 1,113 are provisional ballots.
Another 5,793 are ballots with dissimilar signatures, or votes submitted without signatures.
Once all ballots are processed, 263,594 should have been counted. And with 378,657 registered voters, turnout is expected to have been 69%.
The Sacramento County Registrar of Voters still has 26,050 ballots to process, and once they are counted, turnout is expected to be 75%.
Regional municipal elections
For the Lodi City Council, Ramon Yepez remains in the lead due to his re-election bid for the District 4 seat, while Matthew Pratton tries to oust Bonnie Rodriguez for the second open seat on the Galt City Council.
Yepez has collected 741 votes, accounting for 44.16% of the votes cast so far, while Lyndsy Davis has collected 555 votes for 33%. Alex Aliferis received 382 votes and 22.77%.
Tim Reed continues to lead the Galt City Council, with 5,694 votes for 43% of votes cast.
Pratton and Rodriguez both collected 28% of the vote for the second seat, with the former collecting 3,775 votes and the latter 3,762.
In the Isleton City Council race, Dean Dockery has taken the lead over Aleida Suarez, although both are heading for the podium.
Dockery has 129 votes and Suarez has 113. E. Kelly Hutson has 18, while Paul Steele and Jose Morquecho have 50 and 33 votes respectively.
Diana Villones O’Brien has collected 132 votes in the Isleton City Council race over Michelle Burke, who has 86.
Local school boards
Victoria Lenderman remains ahead of Maia Aguirre in the Lodi Unified School District Board of Education Area 2 seat race, with the former collecting 3,962 votes for 43.64% of votes cast. Aguirre has 2,582 votes for 28.44%.
Incumbent Gary Knackstedt, who ceded the seat at Tuesday’s meeting, received 2,250 votes, good for 37.69%.
Tammi Van Houton and Ann Ullrich have continued to hold Daniel Rice at bay for the two open seats on the Oak View School District Board of Education, though that race remains close.
Van Houton has received 632 votes so far, accounting for 35.55% of the votes cast, while Ullrich has received 618 votes and 33.79%. Rice counted 579 votes and 31.66%.
Karol Messersmith took the lead in the race for Galt Joint Union High School District Board of Education last week and has held onto it thus far. He collected 1,719 votes, compared to incumbent Pat Maple’s 1,656 in the most recent update.
Galt County’s Measure H, which would provide $27 million to repair and upgrade facilities and improve campus security, received 7,072 votes in favor and 5,549 votes against.
Other breeds
At the state level, Jerry McNerney has widened his lead over Clements resident Jim Shoemaker for the fifth Senate seat.
McNerney has collected 51.9% and 124,332 votes, compared to Shoemaker’s 48.1% and 115,317 votes.
Assemblyman Heath Flora, R-Ripon, still holds a commanding lead over Lodi resident Tami Nobriga, with 70.2% of the vote and 125,418 votes. Nobriga has 29.8% and 53,281 votes.
And at the federal level, U.S. Rep. Josh Harder, D-Tracy, maintains his lead over Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln in the 9th District seat race, taking 51.9% of the vote with 124,332 votes. Lincoln has 48.1% and 115,317 votes.
Rep. Doris Matsui, D-Sacramento, received 66.8% of the vote with 191,295 ballots in the race for the 7th District seat, while Galt resident Tom Silva received 46.9% and 162,659 ballots.
