The Daniel Child Care Agency is raising $180,000 to celebrate its 140th year in Jacksonville

The Daniel Child Care Agency in Jacksonville recently raised $180,000 to mark its 140th anniversary as Florida’s oldest nonprofit organization of its kind.

The total, including a $50,000 matching grant from the Delores Barr Weaver Legacy Funds, was $40,000 more than Daniel’s goal.

“We were impressed with how strong and how quickly our supporters stepped up to help us celebrate our anniversary by meeting and exceeding the fundraising goal of the event,” said Daniel President and CEO Lesley Wells.

Proceeds will support Daniel’s efforts working with abused, abandoned and neglected children in Northeast Florida.

The event kicked off on October 3 with a celebration of the organization’s 1884 Giving Society. For more information, visit danielkids.org.
