Reality moment of the week

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans were eager to see the fallout from Dorit Kemsley’s divorce from her husband, PK, and it turns out her response broke the internet.

What happened: When news of the divorce became public, Dorit lit a smoke onscreen for the first time in eight seasons as her fellow housewives digested the news. That’s one way to deal with it! [BuzzFeed]

What people say: On Watch what’s happening live, Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent labeled the moment “iconic,” while Dorit further revealed. [Us Weekly]

My hot take: I keep wondering how angry Kyle Richards must be that her enemy scored this week’s Big Viral Moment when all she did was… [checks notes] accused of with Kevin Costner? Weft. [People]

💃 ‘Dancing with the stars’

This week brought a big twist: no one went home! This only happened in DWTS history, and to be honest I didn’t love it. Only one pair can claim the mirrorball trophy. Why delay the inevitable? [Yahoo Entertainment/Parade]

🏝️ ‘Survivor’

Gabe Ortis’ elimination wasn’t shocking, but I’ll never understand why everyone gave up their Shots in the Dark (a one in six chance of avoiding elimination) for a crappy bag of rice. [Entertainment Weekly]

🗽 ‘RHONY’

🎭 ‘The Masked Singer’

Nickelodeon alum Drake Bell was unmasked as Ice King. Consider his Fox journey “liberating” after his “traumatic experiences” as a child star. At the same time, his return to television is more than it seems. [People/NBC News]

3 questions

…with Emily Leibert

As we all predicted, the RHOBH premiere was absolute. I asked Emily Leibert, a superfan who covers culture for The Cut, to explain.

Laura: What did you think of the season premiere?

Emily: In some ways RHOBH is starting to feel like it’s breathing its last breath á la Sex and the city Season 6. Icons disappear and almost every marriage, apparent or otherwise, has fallen apart. This may never be the Housewives of old, but that’s not me not down front .

Laura: What kind of energy does that? bring this group?

Emily: She is. It’s hard to say this early whether she will actually get her hands dirty at the vets, but I’m hopeful. At the very least, I find it fascinating that someone so connected to corporate America and Big Tech was even interested in joining the cast.

Laura: Do you have an all-time favorite? RHOBH feud?

Emily: Sutton Stracke’s feud with Kyle Richards will go down as one of my favorite scenes in the franchises. It’s childish and evil, a perfect combination.

Relive more top RHOBH moments: Remember the “”?
