The EU criticizes China’s large-scale maneuvers off the coast of Taiwan

The EU has criticized China’s large-scale maneuvers in front of the democratic island of Taiwan.

“Peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait are strategically important for regional and global security and prosperity.”

China had started a large-scale military exercise off the coast of Taiwan earlier on Thursday.

China considers Taiwan part of its territory, although Taiwan has had independent governments since 1949.
