The Falls police officer says they may have been the target of gunfire

June 8 – Police investigated a shooting incident in which a police officer said he may have been targeted in the 2200 block of LaSalle Avenue on Wednesday evening.

The police officer said he was investigating a missing persons report and was talking to two juveniles in the front yard of a home around 10:20 p.m. when he heard a shot that “sounded like it came from about three houses away on the north side of the street came. street.” According to the officer, the shot sounded as if it was aimed at him.

The officer ordered the two youths to run into the home and take cover. The officer took cover behind a porch and waited for more officers to arrive

Arriving officers formed a perimeter of the area and attempted to locate the area where the shot was fired, but were unable to do so.

Officers said that although several people in the area reported hearing the shot, they did not otherwise cooperate with police.
