The Fayette County company is collecting a truckload of donations to help Hurricane Helene victims

A Fayette County company is headed to North Carolina to help hurricane victims.

Quarter Pine Tree Farm in Smithfield said they had already planned a trip to Scottville, North Carolina before Helene devastated the area. Since the reason for the trip is time sensitive, they are still going, but they also wanted to bring much-needed supplies to the area.

That’s why the Christmas Tree Farm held a donation drive on Saturday, collecting items like water, non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, first aid kits, medical supplies, toiletries and more.

Volunteers also came by to help load the truck.

“When you see it on television and see the devastation, it’s just heartbreaking, especially if you’ve just been there. It’s like anything we can do to help, that’s what we wanted to be able to do,” said Debbie Turner.

Supplies are taken to Severts Christmas Tree Farm for distribution.
