The Federal Reserve cut rates for the third month in a row on Wednesday, cutting rates by a quarter of a percentage point. It was the Fed’s last interest rate decision before the inauguration of newly elected President Donald Trump, a longtime critic of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
