Officials have evacuated several households in Bastrop County due to a spreading wildfire.
The fire started just before 2 p.m. Sunday west of downtown Bastrop and quickly spread to 50 acres, according to the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management.
As of 3:40 p.m. Sunday, the Hudson Fire in Bastrop County had grown to an estimated 250 acres and was 0% contained, the Texas A&M Forest Service shared on X.

Residents living near Texas Highway 71 and Alum Creek Road and north of Goiter Trace Road have been told to evacuate. Authorities said households along Park Road 1C were evacuated earlier in the afternoon. They did not say how many homes were affected by the evacuations.
Firefighters are expected to continue working through the night to extinguish the “extremely active” fire, Bastrop Emergency Management said.
No deaths or injuries have been reported.
