The investigation continues after a person was shot at Nahant Beach

The investigation into the Nahant Beach shooting, which left one person in hospital, continues Thursday morning.

State police said the shooting happened Wednesday around 8 p.m. at the beach entrance.

The shooting victim was transported to a Boston hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators appeared to be focused on a white Chevy Traverse SUV, specifically the driver’s side window that had been shot out.

Boston 25 cameras captured broken glass strewn across the ground in a parking lot and a wheelchair next to the car.

A woman said she thought she heard fireworks that turned out to be gunshots.

“It’s crazy. It’s really crazy, especially if you have a good night at the beach. It’s a hot night and it’s really sad,” said Monica Lee.

Police said they are questioning a man matching a suspect description, but no arrests have been made at this time.

Wednesday was the hottest day of the season and many people flocked to the beach.
