The Israeli military said it has attacked more than 100 targets in Gaza and Lebanon in the past 24 hours as it continues to fight on multiple fronts in its war against Islamist groups.

The military targeted weapons depots, rocket launchers and command centers, the military said.

“The troops recovered a large quantity of weapons and eliminated dozens of terrorists from the air and on the ground,” the army said in a statement about army operations in Beit Lahia and Jabalia, the refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip. on Wednesday.

The army continues its operations against the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, with new airstrikes in the south of the capital Beirut, eyewitnesses said on Thursday morning. Beforehand, Israel called on local residents to leave their homes.

Since September, the Israeli military has vastly expanded its attacks in Lebanon, where it says it is fighting the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia, which is trying to push fighters back from the northern border to allow residents to return. Warplanes have bombed targets across the country and regularly in the suburbs south of Beirut.

Health ministries and authorities in Gaza and Lebanon are meanwhile pointing to the high number of civilian casualties caused by the Israeli attacks, which, combined with the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and the extensive destruction, is drawing increasing criticism worldwide.
